Anphints are 7' long, 2' in diameter, segmented, chitinous insects with 3' long jointed legs. They resemble a cross between a praying mantis and a centipede, and weigh about 90 lbs. They are brown, except for their undersides which are pink. Anphints attack by biting. The 1d4 for their damage is from the bite and the +1 is for acid. It can also squirt acid up to 30' once per 6 hours, for 1-6 points of acid damage. They prefer to travel by burrowing and surface within melee range of their prey. [Anphints are smaller variants of the AD&D Ankheg.]
