Hook golems are the creation of the shadow elf priests of Delgorion, the elven god of darkness and malice. Hook golems appear as skeletal hook horrors, seven feet tall, with four claw-tipped arms. Their heads are identical to those of living hook horrors, bearing fearsome beaks and a dull pair of lifeless eyes. Save for their heads, the hook golems' exterior is a dull ivory sheen, and to compensate for the weight of the additional pair of arms, their legs are short and stubby.
Hook golems attack each round with either all four claws or a single stab with their beak. If they use their beak attack, they gain a +1 "to-hit" to reflect the intensity of this ferocious offensive mode. In addition to the normal immunities of their ilk, hook golems are not harmed by fire, cold, or electrical attacks.
Hook golems are created to serve as guardians in shrines and temples dedicated to Delgorion, or as attack-beasts for special missions conducted by Delgorion's clerics. In either capacity, they are programmed during their construction to respond only to clerics of Delgorion, or to those who bear Delgorion's holy symbol and speak the correct command words.
